When Marie was introduced to the world of community theater through her children nearly twenty years ago, she quickly found that it was something she was drawn to and enjoyed. Since that time she learned theatre from the ground up by working as a dresser, costumer, stage manager, props mistress, sound operator and spot operator. No job was too small. Eventually, she joined the Board of Trustees at Villagers Theatre where she founded and developed their KidsVill and TeensVill programs, which continues to enjoy success to this day. She had the honor of producing an early TeensVill show, Runaways, Off Broadway.

While at Villagers, Marie produced countless shows and was the first Trustee to hold the position of Vice President of Production, where she was Executive Producer of many Mainstage and Blackbox shows, as well as retaining her position as Program Director for TeensVill and KidsVill. Marie made her stage debut in her 40s. Since that time and up until the present, she has appeared on stage in several theaters throughout the state. As a playwright, Marie has had the

thrill of seeing her work performed at area theaters and continues to work on new plays. Marie is now enjoying her entry into the world of directing, having successfully staged several children’s shows. She aspires to continue to direct, and feels that as long as the passion for theater burns brightly within, one is never too old to do what one loves.

In her real life, Marie spends her days as a legal assistant in the environmental department at a New Brunswick law firm Hoagland, Longo, Moran, Dunst & Doukas LLP, where she supports three attorneys and serves as a trainer in computer usage and office practices for new employees. Marie joined the Board of NJACT in 2009 as North Jersey Liaison and is thrilled to be a part of an organization which recognizes the hard work and talent of fellow community theater participants.
