The NJACT board of directors understands that the future success of the Perry Awards depends on a strong and collaborative partnership among all NJACT members. To help nurture that partnership, NJACT has made 2009 a year of renewal — a new board, a new website, a new policy of collaboration, a new set of guidelines for how reviewers evaluate shows, even a new online Theater Forum. These efforts may not be perfect and they may not be complete, but they are indicitive of our renewed commitment to you, our members.

As a volunteer organization, we may not always succeed at achieving our goals, but rest assured we'll always give it our best. As NJACT moves forward, we do so focused on fulfilling the following promise to our membership.

We promise to...

  • Be more transparent and communicative with our membership and the New Jersey Theater Community overall.

  • Make our best effort to get all member shows reviewed by at least the minimum number of reviewers so they may all qualify for Perry Award consideration.

  • Solicit and respond to feedback from our membership in order to continually improve the Perry Awards process.

  • Grow the number and quality of NJACT Reviewers through more frequent and effective training.
